texexec.pdf (created with pdflatex, and then pdf page selection is made by
texexec)

output.pdf (texexec.pdf printed by evince linked against cairo 1.12.12 into pdf
file)

You can see that the first symbol (mdash), which is presented in texexec.pdf is
not present in output.pdf. 

The same procedure (printing into a pdf file) does work in a correct way if
evince linked against cairo 1.12.2. So this is a regression.</pre>
