        <pre>These patches no longer apply to the codebase, but it looks like the issue has
not been addressed in the code.  If this is still a problem with Sun C, please
provide a new patch.

This patch names the union 'A', but I think a better name might be something
like 'op'.  Otherwise, the patch LGTM if it fixes a still-existing issue.</pre>
