with Fred Plourde. I think that two different approaches are being implemented,
mipmapping and box filtering. I would suggest using a summed area table for box
filtering. We'd be doubling the memory requirements of each image using it but we
would take almost no performance hit when doing downscale interpolation.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

would like to know if there are any updates in cairo recently that improve the
scale clarity for < 0.5<br>

currently to scale an image at 0.25 i create a temporary buffer and scale it
two times at 0.5 to get a better quality.<br>
