<p>I think the only way to fix this is by converting the layout to a path and using fill().</p>

Even though I render the string, not individual characters, the characters tend not to move the same. The average rate is the same but the space between the characters varies quite a bit. This becomes much more apparent with lower scroll rates. Is there any way to compensate for this?
