Currently cairo provides the following functions:

  cairo_text_extents
  cairo_glyph_extents
  cairo_scaled_font_glyph_extents

In Pango, I need cairo_scaled_font_text_extents or cairo_text_to_glyphs.  While
the latter may have other uses in its own, the former does the job in my case.
