Firefox 3.x has crashed on my system too many times to count in exactly this
same place.     It is totally random.  Totally independent on any visible
activity.   I can run FF in safe mode. I can run it with a clean install.  Does
not make a difference.  It's guaranteed to crash

It may not be a bug in this code, and in the past I found a reference that
someone has claimed to fix a recursion issue.  

If you can't fix it, it would be great if you could tell me what might trigger
it?   (I've stripped my laptop services/process down and it still occurs)
