Hmm, the stack trace indicates an extremely old stack, pixman has not looked
like that for a very long time...
I can't reproduce the strange behaviour running under low bit-depths. The only
suspicion I have there is that magenta is often used to indicate some failure
along some of the compositing paths.
Can you try updating both cairo and pixman to see if the bug is still present
in the current stable releases?
