Proposed patch to fix metric hinting.

I finally learned how to setup VMs, make a patch, etc.  Couldn't figure out how
to use SRPMs in Fedora so I compiled straight from cairo-1.8.8 source release.


With Behdad's change above and a configure/make/make install, nothing happened.

The fonts still showed size irregularities between none and slight-hinted
versions.  The results are identical to the hinting-compare-* pictures.
