Simpler, GTK-free test case

Whoops. I was wrong. I tested cairo-xcb. At least I know that cairo-xcb is not
affected. ;-)

Affected program reproduces the issue here. Setting
CAIRO_DEBUG="xrender-version=-1.-1" still fixes things.
