[cairo] Re: License for cairo changed to LGPL

Hello,

   For what its worth, we also (Mono) would like to avoid the LGPL for
Cairo, as this prevents our users on embedded systems from creating a
applications that do not offer the LGPL requirements.

   We might be stuck with the MIT X11 library and having to gradually
bug fix it, or having to disable the System.Drawing/Cairo support for
embedded folks.

   Incidentally: I just realized that our library libgdiplus (an
implementation of GDI+ on top of Cairo for Unix) is under the LGPL, and
we will rectify this as soon as I come back from vacation.
