[cairo] Win32 problems

Hi all,
I've build a test project using borlands c++ compiler under windows 32 
(xp), my problem is that when trying to call cario_fill i end up with an 
exception that cairo_fill  is not implemented on the surface, i've been 
trying win32 surfaces and image surfaces with no luck so far and same 
results.
Am i missinng something here ?
Is there something that i need to do ot cairo_fill is realy not 
implemented yet ?
