We're really getting close to the 1.2 release now.

Off the top of my head, here are at least three things that still need
to happen before the release:

1) We need to land the device-offset, push/pop_group and other
   Mozilla-required patches

2) We need to fix the set_dpi bug that is resulting in low-resolution
fallbacks, (and maybe even rework the API for this while we're at
   it)

3) We need to improve PDF text support---at an absolute minimum it
should be as good as the current PostScript Type3 stuff we have,
and it would be great if we could do better than that.

Meanwhile, I want to also close off any other loose ends that have
been sitting around. And this is where I need help from people to let
me know what needs to be done. Particularly, I'm interested in work
that exists already that just hasn't been applied, (more than big new
features that might be really cool---we have to have something still
to work on for 1.4, right?).

For example, sunmoon1997 and Zhe Su sent some patches for the
fontconfig "embeddedbitmap" option. These had been sitting around
unapplied since last September (*blush*). I've now applied this as the
first commit to 1.1.3.

So go ahead and embarrass me and tell me what other stuff I've been
neglecting to get to, and let's make 1.2 as excellent as we can in the
next few days.
