I've pinged you about this before, but just to make sure it didn't
fall of your radar: truetype and type1 subsetting.  The work is in the
type1-subsetting branch in my cairo repo:

I think it makes sense to merge these for 1.1.8 so the code gets wider
exposure before 1.2.
