Could you describe how you are drawing the final output? I mean, if it's not 
going to a window on the screen controlled by GTK, where is it going? SDL, 
QT, direct to X11? I see your toolkit runs (dev?) on Windows, so it sounds 
like you have all kinds of good ideas.
