[cairo] LCD filtering in cairo, use default filter?

Yeah, that's a font that's just too thin to be usable at small font
sizes. All the stems are less than a full pixel wide. And yes, with
those narrow stems DEFAULT definitely looks much better, (approximates
gray well while LEGACY is a speckled mess of purple, gray, and the
occasional cyan).

Yup. Even with Courier new, as soon as the stems are a full pixel wide
(or more) they show up in sharp black with LEGACY and with cyan
fringes with DEFAULT (to my eyes at least).
And as full-disclosure, my eyes are definitely very accustomed to
reading well-hinted LEGACY-filtered text at small sizes, (stem width's
of exactly one pixel). So I'm definitely trained to see that as "good"
even if just for sake of familiarity.
