That looks pretty good. I fixed up some little things. There was a
missing slim_hidden_proto(cairo_path_extents) that breaks compilation
on my system, for example, as well as some dead code that wasn't quite
eliminated from the last couple of patches---certainly your cold must
be to blame for that, (I hope you're feeling better now, by the way).

I was just about to push what I've got, but I noticed that the
get-path-extents test is failing. I assume it's working for you? Or
was there perhaps just a typo in entering some of the expected values?

I'll look closer now, but here's what I'm getting:

Testing get-path-extents with image target (dev offset 0)
Error: Text; path extents (0.000000, 0.000000) x (288.000000,
13.000000) should equal (0.000000, 0.000000) x (286.000000, 13.000000)
...
Testing get-path-extents with ps target (dev offset 0)
Error: Text; path extents (0.000000, 0.000000) x (283.126953,
11.625000) should equal (0.000000, 0.000000) x (281.828125, 11.625000)
...

And several similar things, obviously.
