Since I just got around to some other pixman work, (merging the
sampling-position fixes mentioned recently), I've now pushed these
changes I had sitting around adding the release instructions.
The caveats I mentioned before still stand:

Søren, please feel free to adapt the instructions and the Makefile
target as necessary.
With the sampling fixes, and some other pixman fixes I hope to finish
up very soon, we'll be wanting a new pixman release soon in
preparation for the cairo 1.6 release.
Also, I just noticed that pixman seems to do pre-release version
bumping. That unfortunately means that my idea of using compile-time
macros testing the pixman version won't work for including new
features, (at least not until the version bump occurs). Søren, what do
you think about doing both pre-and-post version bumps like cairo does?
Pixman's most recent release does happen to have an even micro number
so that does work out well at least. :-)
