Great idea, Jeff. And thanks again for (yet another) reminder.

Sounds far too familiar I'm afraid...

Delicious!

I'm just going to deal with these by doing a big 1.4 -> 1.6 check for
performance regressions.

Same for me, and all tests pass.

All those above need a new pixman before they will pass.

And that's a bug we just fixed.

These are stubborn tests. I think they need to have a bundled font.

Anyway, I've gone ahead and pushed the change now. Thanks, Jeff!

And I apologize that we took forever on this, (in spite of your many
patient reminders).

With that, we're definitely ready for a new 1.5.8 snapshot. I'd push
that out now, but I'm falling over due to lack of sleep already. I'll
type up release notes and push it out as soon as I can. I might be a
bit slow on that though, since I'm giving a talk in 12 hours---so it
won't be before that. If someone wants to beat me to it that would be
great.

Then the stuff left for 1.6 should be about:

	* Image conversions for goofy visuals

	* Fix for 24.8 infinite loop

	* Fixes for PDF, PS, SVG test suite failures

	* Pixman update with EXTEND_PAD patch from Antoine

	* Testing, testing, and more testing

We really are getting quite close now. Thanks for the great work,
everybody!

Have fun out there,

-Carl
