[cairo] Metafile

Hi,


does cairo has any metafiles (a way to record cairo commands and replay 
it later)?

I'm drawing a complex table with dynamic data, and I do not know if it 
will fit on current page. After complete drawing I know exact table size 
(and then I can say, if it fits on current page, or I should start the 
new empty page). A solution could be drawing to some metafile, and 
playing it on old page or on new page later.
