[cairo] Overhead reduction

In addition to Soeren's comment, it would be useful to base the xserver
patch on its git:

git://anongit.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver.git

(http also works).  (It is currently about 27.74 Megs.)

And git-format-patch output is preferred.
