I thought the point of open source was to share useful software for
the benefit of all, not to trade access to the source code with
patches as the currency. If you require payment for your software, you
should charge in euros, that would be understood much better in the
corporate world...

And yes, I'm in the camp that considers GPL (and LGPL to some extent)
to be just as restrictive as the proprietary licenses, only in the
other end of the spectrum. Thus I prefer the licenses that allow wider
use of my code rather than requiring wider access to other people's
code.
