[cairo] Help needed in case of cairo surface

Hello All,

I want to know the size of cairo surface which i created as when i do *
malloc(sizeof(cairo_surface_t))*, compiler says *cairo_surface_t is
unrecognised.
*I try to find the size by doing
*(cairo_format_stride_for_width(format,widthimage)*heightimage),
*but i guess, this is somewhat wrong as I see error while accessing some
data location.
