[cairo] GPU accelerated rendering on Windows

Hi,

I wonder if cairo can do GPU accelerated rendering on Windows?

I read here [1] that both GDI and Direct2D are GPU accelerated, does
cairo take advantage of it?

What is the current status? Does it use DirectWrite for font rendering?
