How do you run cairo-perf?  I've never used it before.  The test case that I
notice significant performance improvement is with using many documents in
evince.  The tuned functions seem to be hit a lot when viewing PDF documents. 
Can you run cairo-perf against evince?

Also, FYI, the SSE2/VIS/etc. mediaLib code is planned to be released under an
open license in the near future.  The mediaLib team is working through a few
final issues that are necessary before this can happen, but they are working on
it.  They aren't just releasing the C code just to be rude.  :)
