[Cairo] X server CPU Load problem

I've reproduced the bug on my machine. After running for about 1.5
hours with 400-600 ms redraws I see a sudden jump to redraws of about
2 minutes:

This is with the ati driver from XFree86 4.3.0 built from CVS on my
Debian machine.

I don't have any theories. I'll try running this test case with the
kdrive server. If the bug shows up there it will probably be easier to
track it down.
