Here's one idea:

	libglitz

This includes the obvious "GL", and glitz has a suitable English
definition:

	extravagant showiness, glitter

As for uniqueness, "glitz" passes the "apt-cache search" and freshmeat
tests, while "libglitz" passes google.

We can leave the backronym as an exercise for the user.
