Tested on both linux i386 and powerPC-64, to catch any possible endian
issues.

While testing cairo on the powerpc64 I found a couple of minor issues,
not sure if this is the right channel to report them. The system is a
dual G5 running Ubuntu/Kubuntu Hoary. Let me know if there is another
list or channel to report these.

a) cairo builds and installs correctly.
b) libsvg configures correctly (apparently) but the build fails. It
turns out that it needs libpng12-dev and libjpeg-dev, and these are
apparently not checked by the autoconf stuff.
c) libxml2-dev dependancy is also not detected by the configure scripts
on libsvg/libsvg-cairo.

I am really not qualified to deal with the automake/autoconfigure stuff,
so I can not fix this (and do not know if they are supposed to be
fixed.) I also understand that most Debian users will simply pull the
binaries in the near future, so this might not be an issue. Just
reporting what I saw on this system, which is pretty bare.

After the dependancies are installed (including libsdl-dev for the demo)
I can build the demos and test them correctly.

Regards,
Mauricio
