I totally redid my howto. It should now be readable and ("don't make me
think") usable :) Everybody who is bored can go read my older email in
the archive for the really unimportant remarks I removed from it.
(TODO: abort on error; build log) It's not yet tested, but I'm running
the included script right now to rebuild everything.
If I read it right, DESTDIR is used when making a package, kind of like
a pseudo chroot.
( OT Question: How do you guys deal with having accounts on tons of
pages, like xorg.freedesktop.org/wiki being one of them? Is there
anything more usable than (and at least as safe as) KeePassX 0.2.2 +
random passwords on each? )
What I see is outdated/wrong in xorg.freedesktop.org/wiki is:
http://xorg.freedesktop.org/wiki/ModularDevelopersGuide#head-70b76cfa443105aa56b0c3d98615ae7d4f32c452
-> The "Note"
-> The usage notice code block.
Judging from those two, I'd guess those instructions might be valid for
some (outdated) release. To bring them consistently up-to-date would
require someone to really read through the whole document and check each
instruction for validity. Doing small patches here and there might lead
to a documentation that doesn't really apply to any release IMHO.
