Seriously! Cairo 1.0.2 ? That's really ancient.

The easiest way to get cairo installed is to use a distribution that
packages a current version of cairo, (which is 1.6.4---3 major versions
from 1.0.2).

Excepting that, you would need to download, compile, and install cairo
yourself. We've got instructions for that here:
