[cairo] Errors building Cairo and Pixman under Cygwin

All I am doing is to try to build Pixman 0.14.0 straight from the tar ball,
unchanged in any way, in Cygwin.  Hasn't anyone else built this on Windows?

Unfortunately this is my first real venture into the C++ world and
consequently I do not have much of an idea as how to "debug" these errors.
If I knew shell scripting a little better perhaps I would have more luck.

I am hoping someone has encountered this problem before and knows a way
around it.
