It does.  Can't reproduce though.  I don't have Arial.  Can you confirm that 
it only happens with freetype patented bytecode interpreter enabled?  I 
imagine FreeType doesn't correctly update the bounding box info in that 
case...  If that's the case, perhaps it should be reported to the FreeType 
developers.
