I found this terminology in a widely used UI; it is hardly unique.
Other UI developers already try to translate the icc terms into plain
[pick your language]; a survey of what they came up with, ie what users
already see and use, is helpful and should be considered at the very
least in informing cairo's documentation, perhaps even api.
