[cairo] function 'PycairoContext_FromContext' not found ?

Hi All,  I use cairo with Gtk3, via cairocffi and gi.repository.  I've been using PycairoContext_FromContext to convert between pycairo surfaces (as used by gtk3) and cairocffi surfaces.
Recently I tried my build on fedora + found that function is missing (checked with ldd), a similar thing happened when I tried on Windows.
On Ubuntu everything works fine.
Is there a reason that might not be available ? S++
