[cairo] Possibility of a new snapshot (1.17.6)?

I am looking into the possibility of updating the (currently extremely
old and extensively patched) version of Cairo used by Firefox.
I experimented with the 1.17.4 snapshot as a starting point, and found
it necessary to cherry-pick a couple of dozen post-1.17.4 commits from
gitlab master in order to get a working Firefox build.
I'm wondering, therefore, whether it would be possible to tag and
release an updated snapshot (presumably it would be 1.17.6) that
includes the fixes that have merged to Cairo master since the beginning
of the year?
As of now, my patches for Firefox (in
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=739096) are based on an
essentially arbitrary upstream commit. It would be nice to be able to
pull from an explicitly tagged snapshot instead, but 1.17.4 needs too
many followup fixes to be an attractive option. As far as I can tell, a
snapshot of current HEAD or similar would be strictly better than
1.17.4, fixing a number of significant bugs.
Thanks,
Jonathan
